Application:
Is it possible to apply to the PREL Program without a background in Economics?No, the minimum requirement to apply to the PREL is at least, three years of studies in Economics.
Can Chilean students apply? No, this Program is targeted exclusively to foreign Latin American students. However, foreign students with residence in Chile may apply, if they studied in non-Chilean Latin American institutions.
What proficiency level in English is required to enter the PREL? It is not necessary that the student officially certifies his/her English knowledge at the time of application. Nevertheless, a sizable proportion of courses' bibliography and eventually, some lectures, are in English. A poor knowledge of English will seriously harm the student's performance.
Fees:
Are there any scholarship? There are no scholarships for the PREL Program currently.
Attending the Master Program:
Is it possible to enroll the Program and work at the same time? No, PREL is a full-time program.
Is it possible to take leveling courses? Yes, if the Economics Institute determines that it is necessary to do so.
It is possible to apply to other graduate programs when the student completes the PREL Program? Yes. In fact, a student who has attended the PREL has a higher chance of being accepted in the Master in Economics.
