The Economic Studies Program for Latin American Students (PREL as abbreviated in Spanish) born as a response to the interest demonstrated by foreign students of entering the Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, as a means of improving their university education.
The Program gives the possibility to obtain, in a two-year period, the Bachelor in Economics Sciences degree ("Licenciatura en Ciencias Económicas", undergraduate degree). From its beginnings, the fundamental and permanent objective has been to provide the student a solid knowledge, based on the modern economic theory, and relevant to today's economic problems.
The Program is targeted to outstanding Latin American students that have completed, at least, three years of undergraduate studies in their respective countries. Chilean students cannot apply. This degree is recognized in the best U.S. and European universities for admission to graduate school.
