The Economics Institute of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile was created in 1972 and has developed into a center of national and international prestige. Our mission is to stimulate the development of research and economic sciences. We do this through all of the activities carried out at the Institute: basic and applied economics research, training of specialists through undergraduate and graduate programs, publications on economic sciences including the Latin American Journal of Economics, workshops and conferences , consultancies provided by our faculty members, and many other activities that establish our influence both in applied as well as theoretical economics. .
